Amazon KDP Account & Book Appeals

Evidence-led review for Kindle Direct Publishing account enforcement, book removals, publishing restrictions, content or metadata concerns, rights questions, and rejected appeals. KDP is not Seller Central. It is a publishing programme with its own review pathways.

Separate the enforcement scope before responding

A KDP account termination or access restriction can affect publishing activity across the account. A book-level block or removal may be limited to one title, several titles, or a particular format. These positions should not be treated as interchangeable. We review the exact notice, determine whether the concern is account-level or title-level, and assess how prior submissions may have shaped the current review.

The initial assessment covers account termination or deactivation, access restrictions, identity and account-ownership concerns, multiple or duplicate-account signals, title removals, publishing restrictions, and previous appeals that did not resolve the issue.

KDP issues reviewed

  • Account termination, deactivation, or restricted publishing access
  • Identity, legal-name, account-ownership, or verification concerns
  • Multiple or duplicate-account concerns and the factual account history
  • Books or titles that have been blocked, removed, or prevented from publishing
  • Content, manuscript, cover, metadata, keyword, or description enforcement
  • Copyright, licensing, rights ownership, and publishing-authority evidence
  • Previous or rejected appeals, including inconsistencies across submissions

Evidence requirements depend on the notice

There is no universal KDP appeal pack. A rights concern may require a coherent chain of authorship, licence, assignment, or publishing authority. An identity or ownership concern may turn on whether the account history and entity details are internally consistent. A content or metadata issue may require a title-specific comparison between the notice, the files, the listing information, and the applicable publishing position.

For the first review, preserve the complete KDP notice, relevant dates, affected title details, prior appeals and responses, and a factual chronology. Do not send passwords, payment information, or sensitive identity documents through an initial enquiry. We confirm the appropriate secure evidence route after scope has been assessed.

Appeal and escalation assessment

We do not begin with a generic template. The review compares the enforcement notice, account or title scope, prior appeal history, and the evidence that can actually support the position. Where a revised appeal or escalation is viable, the strategy is structured around the specific concern. Where the evidence cannot support the requested outcome, we explain that before further submissions add risk or confusion.

Amazon KDP appeal support FAQs

Is Amazon KDP the same as Amazon Seller Central?

No. Kindle Direct Publishing is Amazon's publishing programme for books and ebooks; it has different notices, evidence requirements, review teams, and appeal pathways from Seller Central. A KDP enforcement case should be assessed against the publishing account, title, metadata, rights, and identity evidence involved rather than seller-account performance concepts.

Can you help with both an account termination and a removed book?

Yes. We first separate account-level enforcement from book-level enforcement because they affect different scopes and may require different evidence. An account termination can affect publishing access across the account, while a blocked or removed title may turn on that book's content, metadata, rights, or publishing-authority evidence.

What should I provide for an initial KDP appeal review?

Start with the exact KDP notice, its date, the affected account or titles, any prior appeal and response, and a factual chronology. Depending on the issue, the later evidence review may also consider authorship, licensing, publishing rights, identity, account ownership, manuscript, cover, or metadata records. Do not send passwords, payment data, or sensitive identity documents through the initial enquiry form.

Can you review an appeal that KDP has already rejected?

Yes. We compare the notice, the previous submission, KDP's response, and the available evidence to identify gaps or inconsistencies before assessing whether a revised appeal or escalation is supportable. Repeating the same explanation without addressing the rejection signal is rarely a sound strategy.

Can you help with copyright, licensing, or publishing-rights concerns?

Potentially. These matters depend on a clear evidence chain showing who created, owns, licensed, or is authorised to publish the relevant work. We can help organise and present the publishing-authority evidence for a KDP review, but we do not provide legal advice or create missing rights.

Do you guarantee KDP account or book reinstatement?

No. Amazon retains the final decision and no independent advisor can guarantee reinstatement, restoration, or a response time. Our role is to review the notice and evidence, identify the defensible appeal position, and prepare a clear, evidence-led strategy where the facts support one.

Are you affiliated with Amazon or KDP?

No. ReinstateAMZ is an independent advisory firm. We are not Amazon, Kindle Direct Publishing, affiliated with Amazon, endorsed by Amazon, or able to influence Amazon's review teams outside the evidence and submissions available through the appropriate channels.
