Amazon FBA Hazmat & Dangerous Goods Compliance

Understand the restriction before choosing the next step. We review your marketplace, programme status, ASIN classification and product evidence, then help prepare a documented response through Amazon’s available channels.

Two decisions. Different evidence.

Programme enrolment and ASIN classification are separate decisions. A classified ASIN does not grant programme admission; programme enrolment does not make every product eligible for FBA. Amazon decides eligibility, storage capacity, review outcomes and waitlist invitations. We do not offer accelerated waitlist access or guarantee approval.

Marketplace-specific eligibility

United States — Amazon.com

Check the US programme status, ASIN classification and current FBA product restrictions separately. Amazon’s US programme help page describes a waitlist and states that enrolment cannot be expedited. An accepted document is not an admission decision.

Canada — Amazon.ca

Amazon.ca has a dangerous goods programme waitlist. We check the account’s displayed enrolment status and the official application route, while treating missing documents or an ASIN classification hold as a separate workstream. Amazon notifies sellers when an opportunity to participate becomes available; we cannot advance a waitlist position or predict an invitation.

Official Amazon programme guidance

United Kingdom — Amazon.co.uk

Use the UK programme and dangerous goods requirements for the relevant product and fulfilment route. Check current account access, product eligibility, limited-quantity conditions and the designated fulfilment centre before sending stock. UK access must not be assumed from another marketplace.

Official Amazon programme guidance

European Union — Relevant EU store

Identify the individual EU store and the countries of storage and shipment, not just “Europe”. Amazon’s German programme help describes a UK/EU waitlist, and European terms retain country-specific category approval and product conditions. Check the applicable store, document language and fulfilment restrictions; do not assume approval transfers across countries.

Practical support for the restriction you actually face

Diagnostic & eligibility review

Separate an account-level programme restriction, a product prohibition, a documentation gap and an ASIN classification hold. Receive a scoped findings summary and recommended next actions.

SDS & exemption-sheet review

Check manufacturer or importer documentation for the correct product identity, consistency, completeness, required sections, revision date and applicable marketplace language. An exemption sheet is an Amazon-defined route for qualifying products, not a substitute for an SDS whenever one is required.

Battery documentation

Review battery chemistry, configuration, quantity, watt-hours and the requested Amazon battery information or exemption sheet. For lithium batteries, identify the applicable UN 38.3 test-summary evidence and current marketplace requirements. We do not fabricate test reports or replace testing by a qualified provider.

ASIN classification disputes & delayed reviews

Compare the classification outcome with the listing and source evidence, identify inconsistencies, and prepare a reasoned correction or re-review request. For delayed reviews, check the current status and published guidance before a documented follow-up; no fixed resolution time is promised.

Programme & permitted escalation support

Help prepare the available enrolment application or a factual Seller Support case with ASINs, marketplace, case IDs, submission history and relevant evidence. Use the support or escalation options Amazon actually provides for that case. No privileged contact, bypass or waitlist acceleration is offered.

Multi-ASIN support

Build an ASIN-by-marketplace evidence matrix, identify shared and product-specific gaps, and prioritise work by the actual restriction and stock exposure. A shared supplier or product family does not mean one document covers every ASIN, variant, bundle or marketplace.

Your three-step assessment and support process

01. Diagnose the restriction

Tell us the marketplace, ASINs, product type, programme status and exact Amazon message. We distinguish enrolment access from product classification and define the review scope.

02. Review & prepare the evidence

We reconcile the listing with supplier documents, SDS or qualifying exemption sheets and battery evidence, then provide a gap list and a case-ready submission plan.

03. Submit & follow up appropriately

Submit through the relevant Seller Central workflow, monitor the documented outcome and use available support routes where justified. Amazon retains control of decisions, capacity and timing.

Frequently asked questions

Is programme enrolment the same as ASIN classification?

No. Enrolment concerns the seller account’s access to the FBA dangerous goods programme. Classification concerns the product and its documentation. Both requirements may matter, and neither makes an otherwise prohibited product eligible.

Can you get us off the Amazon.ca dangerous goods waitlist faster?

No. Amazon’s Canada programme page confirms a waitlist and says sellers are notified when participation becomes available. We can review the available application route and prepare ASIN evidence separately, but cannot secure a place, shorten the wait or promise an invitation.

Do all products need an SDS?

No. Follow the evidence request and the applicable product requirements. Amazon may request an SDS or an appropriate exemption sheet. Battery and battery-powered products and products without harmful chemicals have specified exemption-sheet routes; an exemption sheet must not be used to conceal hazardous ingredients.

What battery evidence should we have ready?

Provide the product and battery specifications, chemistry, whether batteries are included or installed, and any documents Amazon requests. Lithium-battery requirements can include a UN 38.3 test summary. We check the applicable marketplace and product rules rather than treating an SDS as a replacement for battery test evidence.

Can you challenge an incorrect ASIN classification?

We can review the outcome against the product facts and prepare a documented correction or re-review request through the available Amazon workflow. Amazon makes the classification decision; changing a listing to hide a dangerous-goods attribute is not an acceptable workaround.

What happens when an Amazon review is delayed?

We check the last submission, document consistency, visible status, case history and the marketplace’s current review guidance. Where justified, we prepare a factual follow-up through the available support route. Amazon may request further evidence, and we do not promise a faster review or a fixed completion date.

Does approval in one marketplace cover the others?

Do not assume it does. We assess the US, Canada, UK and relevant EU store separately, including programme access, product restrictions, language, battery evidence, capacity and transport conditions. A permission or document accepted in one store is not blanket cross-marketplace approval.

Do you support several ASINs or create safety documentation?

Yes, we can scope multi-ASIN evidence and submission support. Our review does not replace the manufacturer’s or importer’s responsibility for accurate safety documentation, testing by qualified providers or specialist transport advice. Any specialist authoring or laboratory work must be separately scoped with an appropriate provider.

How much does the service cost?

We confirm a written scope and quote after assessing the marketplace, product evidence, number of ASINs and the actual restriction. No fee or service engagement guarantees Amazon approval, programme enrolment or a particular review time.
